Sun Ahn Music

A contemporary Christian music composer, arranger, pianist, and producer, Sun Ahn has a career that spans over 25 years. She graduated from Seoul National University where she majored in composition. Her major works include innovative arrangements for Soma Trio such as “Amazing Grace with Bach” and numerous compositions and arrangements of church choral music including publication of the Easter Cantata, “ The Greatest Sacrifice”.

She also participated in many recording projects as a composer, producer, arranger, and pianist.She worked with numerous acclaimed Korean CCM artists such as Jungmee Song, Jongho Park, David and Jonathan, Youngjin Sohn, and Myongshik Kim and more. She also arranged and accompanied Soma Trio’s violinist Angela Inkyung Sohn’s solo album, ‘With All My Heart’.

In 2013, Sun released her first piano album, ‘Truly Yours’. She explores various musical styles in the collection of hymns along with one original piece. For example, in 'Showers of Blessing' and 'Once to Every Man and Nation', she starts with the excerpts from the well- known classical pieces and intermingles with the hymn. In 'Jesus Loves Me', she borrows the rhythm of 5/4 from famous jazz number, 'Take Five'. She also uses many different combinations of instruments including classical piano trio (piano, violin, and cello) , jazz combo (piano, drums and bass), clarinet and violin as well as solo piano.
